About the Graduate Student Symposium

The annual Graduate Student Symposium (GSS) is a student-organized event that provides an opportunity to the graduate students from the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (and associated programs) at the University of Pennsylvania to present their findings to the academic community and interested representatives from industry, national labs, and academia. It provides a great opportunity for students to network and discuss research topics of interest. Students present talks and posters throughout the day on a variety of topics from the fields of catalysis, bioengineering, soft matter, computation, composite materials, and combinations of the above and much more! In the past, the event has drawn representatives from companies such as Dow, Merck, ExxonMobil, L’Oreal and Air Products.

In 2022, the symposium was a great success, highlighting 9 oral and 31 poster presentations by our students to nearly 100 attendees. We appreciate your attendance and participation!

This year, GSS is entirely in-person, please see the schedule for GSS 2023. In the lineup, we have 10 oral and 24 poster presentations!

If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact us at cbegss@seas.upenn.edu. We hope to see you at the symposium!

Cheers,
